Support Roman Susan Art Foundation NFP

In 2020, the commercial rental rate for 1224 West Loyola Avenue is $18 per square foot. If you have the means to do so, please sponsor a square foot of Roman Susan's storefront space for the coming year. This is our first sponsorship drive, and the number of community members actively supporting Roman Susan is more important to us than the amount of money we raise. Whether it is $18 or 18¢ – any amount will let us know you believe in what we do. Online donation options include Facebook, Patreon, and PayPal – or write to us at support@romansusan.org for offline options. Thank you!

ROMAN SUSAN ART FOUNDATION operates as an art space and platform for exhibitions and events in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The space was founded in 2012 by Kristin Abhalter, named in honor of her grandparents Roman and Susan Lewandowski.

Roman Susan has been organized and run with significant help from family, friends, neighborhood volunteers, and participating artists. In our first seven years, together we have completed 117 art projects, showcasing the work of 917 artists. We are greatly appreciative of all the encouragement and support we receive with each new artist project.

In 2016, Roman Susan incorporated as a nonprofit organization, receiving 501(c)3 tax-exempt status as a public charity. Roman Susan Art Foundation NFP will continue to operate as an artist-run organization, drawing our Board of Directors exclusively from individuals who have previously completed projects at the art space. Directors of the organization for 2020 are Joanna Furnans, Ruth Hodgins, Siobhan Leonard, and Juan Molina Hernández. The Executive Director is Kristin Abhalter, the Managing Director is Nathan Smith.
