Joanna Furnans
Genuine Fake Reward

1224 W Loyola Ave, Chicago IL
March 26, 2017 - March 31, 2017

For last week of March, Roman Susan will be projecting Genuine Fake Reward, a video that is part of the fundraising launch for Joanna Furnans' new project Genuine Fake – a dance exploring the power and perils of conformity within countercultures – featuring Elise Cowin, Tia Greer, Alyssa Gregory, Lindsey Lee, Sarah Ellen Miller, Zachary Nicol, and Amanda Ramirez.

Joanna Furnans is an independent dance artist based in Chicago. Her work demonstrates a conscious attention to content, form and imagery as a means to express an authentic experience of self and question the status quo within numerous cultural contexts: postmodern dance culture, queer culture, post-feminist culture, and contemporary American culture. Her choreography has been supported by the Walker Art Center, the University of Minnesota, the Pleasure Rebel Series, the Chicago Moving Company, Links Hall, and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.

For more info, please take a moment to review, share, and contribute to the Genuine Fake fundraising launch via Kickstarter. Donations made to Roman Susan through March 31 will go to support the creation of Genuine Fake, which will make its debut in Summer 2017 as a part of Links Hall Co-MISSIONS.
