Dual Enframe is the first in a series of collaborative dance/movement vignettes filmed by Kioto Aoki with Mitsu Salmon. The film plays with different iterations of "the framing device" using the camera, the body, the mirror and the window space. The work will be projected each evening after sunset, visible from the street.

Kioto Aoki is a visual artist whose practice includes photography, film, books and installations to engage the material specificity of the analogue image and image-making process. Using the nuances of of time, space, form, light and motion, her work explores different modes of perception. Recent work plays with notions of in-between spaces, particularly between the still and moving image; as well as a series of dance-movement films. She has exhibited and screened in Chicago, Berlin, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London and Japan. Her work is held in Joan Flasch Artists' Book Collection and the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago Library. Kioto received her MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is currently an artist in resident for HATCH Projects at the Chicago Artists Coalition. For more information, please visit
